West Region Round up

The only game in the Superleague Premier Division to beat the weather saw Petershill travel to Irvine Meadow and record a fine 4-1 win and move to the top of the table.

McGladrigan finished off a fine move for the visitors on 20 minutes with a second goal coming from the penalty spot 5 minutes into the second half.

Meadow’s chances of a fightback disappeared shortly afterwards when Parker was dismissed after clashing with Murch.

McGladrigan scored again just before the hour mark and McKenna added a fourth before McLennan grabbed a consolation for the hosts.

First Division leaders Hurlford suffered a 4-1 defeat against Kilbirnie Ladeside that netted through Smillie, who scored twice, McGeown and McLean.

Bottom side Whitletts went down 4-0 to visitors Rutherglen who scored in the first half through Neil with Agnew, McLaughlin and Flannery netting in the second.

In the Central District First Division Greenock won for the ninth time when they picked up a 3-1 success at Carluke. Boyd opened the scoring and Carter netted a penalty in the first half with McKenna scoring from a spot kick in the second with Stark scoring Rovers’ goal.

In the only game in the Ayrshire District League McLelland scored in injury time to earn Girvan a point in their 1-1 draw with Annbank who led through Sloan’s goal.
