As teams begin their Emirates Scottish Cup journey this weekend, East Region league sponsors, McBookie.com, is giving clubs another incentive to win the big one this year. The online bookmaker is offering a £5000 bonus if any East Region team can win this year’s competition.
With Linlithgow the 10/1 second favourite and Bo’ness and Bonnyrigg also near the front of the betting there is every chance that the firm could be paying out.
Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman commented, “ This is our first year sponsoring all leagues in the East Region and we wanted to do something special around the Emirates Scottish Cup. It would be great if an East team could win the Cup as it has been in the West for a few years now, and we want it back."
East Region Secretary, John Reilly added, “ Winning the Emirates Scottish Cup should be incentive enough for the teams but this is a great financial bonus, especially during these tough times.”
