Carluke keep hold of Watt
Carluke Rovers have signed striker Ian Watt after he impressed during a loan spell from Queen’s Park last season. The speedy front man had been with the Spiders for over 4 years and played more than 100 times however he drifted out of Gardner Speirs’ starting XI after the emergence last season of Aidan Connolly who has just joined Dundee United and Aberdeen bound Lawrence Shankland.
McCusker in demand
Former Hearts, Albion Rovers, Clyde, Queen of the South and Dumbarton striker Marc McCusker is in demand at both a senior and junior level. The 23 year old was a trialist for Queen’s Park in Saturday’s closed door friendly against Falkirk and Ayrshire side Irvine Meadow are also in the chase.
Hampden head coach Gardner Speirs said: “I know Marc from my days coaching in the Scotland Youth set-up. He has come in and trained with us and got 45 minutes against Falkirk but I am aware that he has other options to consider.”
