Brechin Vics appoint Charlie King
Brechin City legend Charlie King has been appointed as the player/ manager of local junior side Brechin Victoria.
The 33 year old former St Johnstone and Livingston player King supplied guile to the Glebe Park midfield for 11 years during which he featured in nearly 400 games before leaving for Forfar last season.
After being released by the Loons King is joining the junior side he has been coaching them for nearly a year with Vics’ Treasurer Brian Eaton saying: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Charlie as our player manager with immediate effect. Charlie will combine a playing role with managing the club.”
“Charlie built up a strong bond with the committee and the players during his time as a coach and having now completed his coaching badges he feels that this is an ideal opportunity for him to start his coaching/managing progression.”
