Lee Wilkie pitches up at Bluebells
Former Dundee, Dundee United and Scotland defender Lee Wilkie who left his post as assistant manager at Third Division Montrose at the end of last season has joined the coaching staff at junior side Lochee United.
The 33 year old 11 times capped former centre back left Links Park due to work and family commitments just 5 weeks ago, however he has agreed to work with the Bluebells new boss Stevie Leahy.
The Lochee manager who only replaced Paul Ritchie last week said: “Lee was very well known for his never say die attitude in his playing days and I am sure the playing squad at Thomson Park will be looking forward to working with such a character over the coming season.”
Pollok start re-building squad
Pollok have brought former Albion Rovers, Arbroath, Greenock Morton, East Stirlingshire, Stenhousemuir, Berwick Rangers and Brechin City striker Iain Diack back to the club as well as recruiting one time Dundee United, Stirling Albion and Ayr United defender Willie Easton.
The duo are two of five players that manager John Richardson has signed from his former club Kirkintilloch Rob Roy with former Raith Rovers, Queen of the South, Morton and Stenhousemuir defender Robbie Henderson, ex- Celtic youth Alan Lindsay and one time Tannadice kid Kieran McAleenan all swapping Adamslie for Newlandsfield.
Striker Richie Barr, who netted for Irvine Meadow when they become the first Junior side to defeat Scottish League opposition in the Scottish Cup, when he grabbed the winner against Arbroath, has also joined the Glasgow junior side.
