Auchinleck Talbot Community Vision
Talbot Community Dream gathers pace
Auchinleck Talbot’s dream is getting more realistic as they build towards the achievement of becoming a community club. The success on the field of a recent super league title win, which will bring a place in the William Hill Scottish cup next season and also a much anticipated Scottish junior cup final to look forward to in a couple of weeks’ time, has brought success on the field.
“Since making the announcement in February, Auchinleck Talbot now has 3 youth teams fully affiliated to the junior club working under their professional structured approach to the development and wellbeing for our members” says Club Development Manager Charlie Richmond.
Fun 4’s
Richmond added: “The next piece in moving closer to the achievement of a community club is that Auchinleck Talbot are delighted to announce that they are looking for the next generation of football players to start up their earlier youth teams.
We are looking for boys and girls born in 2007, 2006 and 2005 to come along to a fun festival evening held in Beechwood Park on Friday 14th June at 6:00 – 7:00pm to enjoy the fun of playing football and register with the club.
Also to run in parallel we are looking for male and female suitable coaches or volunteers to become coaches to help develop the players in the new youth teams. If you’re interested in becoming a coach then contact me on 01290 422714 or Club Secretary Henry Dumigan on 01290 421785 to register that you will be attending on Friday 14th June.
The U14’s, players born in 1999, are currently looking for more players to come along and join the team. The team currently train at Auchinleck Academy on Tuesday and Friday at 6:30 till 7:30pm.
Future Plans
In terms of the club’s development Talbot will be announcing more plans for boys and girls born in 2004, 2003 and 2002 in December 2013 to start more teams under the affiliation of the club. In March 2014 we will be looking to start up an Over 35’s team to take part in a summer league from May till August 2014.
Richmond said: “It is very exciting time at the football club at the moment and we are working away while building very good relationships with the SFA, East Ayrshire Council and other partnerships organisations to meet with National and Regional agendas. We are one of only a few junior clubs in Scotland that are driving this development forward to set up a complete youth section as we try to bring through the next players for our junior team.”
“Auchinleck Talbot have continued to work on their vision of creating a community football club since achieving Standard Level Quality Mark in 2012.”
It is a huge credit to all at the Club that - even though the Junior team have a long-standing history of on-field success - they are investing so much time and resources in developing their off-field structure. I’m delighted to be working with Talbot towards this goal, and have been really impressed by the ideas and energy that have come from the youth teams involved also. The idea of a community club is not just to provide a pathway for players and coaches, it is to be a real focus for the whole community and the Scottish FA will provide support to this initiative every step of the way.”
