PROUD GRANDPA’ COLLECTS LOTTERY CHEQUE

Proud Grandpa’ Sandy Gormanley stepped in to collect the winners cheque from last weeks’ Whitletts Victoria weekly lottery, sponsored by Caledonian Windows, on behalf of his daughter Chloe.

Chloe had scooped the £550 Jackpot after picking all 4 numbers in the draw, making it a double cause for celebration for the Gormanley family as Chloe was in hospital having just given birth to her son Alfie.

Best wishes of everyone at Whitletts Victoria go to Chloe and Alfie.

This weeks’ draw was made following the clubs’ Scottish Cup tie at Camelon by Camelon committee member John Munro who picked out numbers 2, 12, 19 & 20

There was no ticket with all 4 numbers so next weeks’ Jackpot stands at £550

DEL CALLS IT A DAY

Veteran Whitletts Victoria stalwart, Derek McCulloch has made the decision to hang up his boots and bring his distinguished junior career to an end.

41 year old ‘Del’, who played for Maybole, Auchinleck Talbot, Beith and Kilwinning Rangers before managing Hurlford United to the Superleague First Division title last season, joined Vics’ earlier in the season and helped transform the Ayr side as they embarked on a 13 match unbeaten run that took Vics’ all the way to the quarter final of the Scottish Junior Cup.

McCulloch informed the Club of his decision immediately after Whitletts exit from the competition at Camelon on Saturday.
Whitletts boss Steph McMillan, who played with McCulloch at Auchinleck Talbot, praised his former team mate as an influential player who will be sorely missed at the club.

“Del has been a tremendous junior player and given everything he had at every club he has played for and that was no different during his all too brief time with us. His influence at Whitletts was exceptional but in recent months he has been playing through the pain barrier for the Club and training less and less to enable him to play on a Saturday so I am not surprised that he has made this decision.”

“His experience and knowledge of the game is exceptional. Let’s not forget that he managed Hurlford United to the Superleague First Division title last season so he’s got a 100% record too as a manager. I know he’s looking to take some time out with his family before deciding what he wants to do but he would be a great capture for a club who is looking for a new manager. But no matter what he chooses to do he’ll always be made welcome at Dam Park”
