Whitletts Vics : Testimonial for Raymie

Former Whitletts Victoria captain Raymond Buchanan has been granted a testimonial by the Club to mark the ten years he spent with his local junior club.

Raymond, left the Club in the summer to take up the managerial reigns at Lugar Boswell Thistle, joined Vics from Girvan in 2009 and was a key part of two promotion winning Vics teams.

During that time he also had a six month spell playing in the senior ranks with East Stirlingshire for whom he played against Rangers at Ibrox.

Announcing the testimonial Vics Vice Chairman Andy McKissock stated that the testimonial committee had been formed and that discussions were underway with a Scottish Premiership side to provide the opposition for Raymond's big day.

"There can be no-one in junior football more deserving of a testimonial than Big Raymie" said Andy.

"During his time at Whitletts he's had opportunities to move on elsewhere but other than a spell at East Stirling when they were an SFL club, he has remained loyal to the Vics, playing under a number of managers."

"I'm delighted that a testimonial committee has been formed for Raymie and believe that negotiations have started with a Scottish Premiership club to send a team down to provide the opposition for Raymie's big day."

"That game is likely to take place next year but there are also a few other events being lined up in the coming months as well."
